Blog - Portraiture Photographic Sessions

Winter is my favourite time of year in Brisbane.  Chilly nights and absolutely superb, clear days.  Stunning.  So, what better time to get out and about and do an Engagement Session. The Engagement Session serves a few purposes, and it is probably not what you think it is.  I do not go to the couple’s engagement party!  Firstly, it is a rapport building session.  We get to know one another, hence building the level of comfort and being more familiar on the Wedding Day.  It also gives the couple an idea of what to expect on the day.  I take them through a series of excercies and explain the kind of things that make for great images – for example, how to stand, and the best way to walk together.  Lastly, the session serves to get the couple used to displaying Public Displays of Affection!  When they get used to snogging in front of the camera, that’s when the magic happens!

Rachelle and Kieren and I had so much fun shooting this engagement session.  It makes a huge difference when couples are happy to experiment with different locations and lighting, and these two were happy to do anything I suggested!!!   We are going to have a blast on the Wedding Day – I am so looking forward to it.
